Chico Neighborhoods

Meriam Park.

A walkable, built-from-scratch neighborhood on the east side. Here's what it's actually like to live there.

What It's Like

A neighborhood built to be walked.

Meriam Park sits south of Humboldt Road and west of Bruce Road, on land that used to belong to Enloe. Instead of the usual subdivision layout, it was planned from the ground up with old-town-style grid streets, so homes, apartments, shops, and offices sit close enough together that you can actually walk to most of it. It borders Doe Mill, so the two neighborhoods blend together in a lot of ways.

It's still filling in. Parts of it, like the Dwell District apartments and a run of small businesses (a commissary kitchen with local food vendors, a courthouse, a VA outpatient clinic), are open and running. Other parcels are still under construction or planned. If you like the idea of a neighborhood that's actively becoming something, this is one to watch, and to get into early if that appeals to you.

Good to Know

Worth understanding before you buy.

A

It's still under construction in places

Some streets and parcels are finished, others are actively being built out. That means some construction noise and changing surroundings for now, and more amenities arriving over time.

B

Homes vary a lot in size

The plan allows for everything from smaller homes to larger ones on the same streets, plus apartments and townhomes mixed in. Worth being specific about what you want when we start touring.

C

Walkability is the real draw

If you want to be able to grab coffee, get food, or walk to a small business without getting in the car, this is one of the few spots in Chico actually designed for that.
